Cupcake Competition 2012

I suppose it was kind of good fun
staying up til 2am fashioning these

and they did taste quite splendid

probably because they were adorned with chocolatey
babies rising from the depths of hell.

One of our two judges told me she had scored me highest overall...

...I came third.

  There was no third prize.

(other than that knowledge, of course)

(Pre Raphaelites vs. Picasso)

Tina compared me to Lizzie Siddal one time.  Something about big soulful eyes.  She said this while referring to Beata Beatrix

who poses with closed eyes.

Cupcake prelude

"T'ain't no sin to take off your skin
And dance around in your bones"

One each for Frankie and Orla!

But there may be too much dark chocolate for children...

In a small world of chaos, my hogs have kept me sane.

Some way to go yet...

These experimental folk

A little spot of character creation and a foray into the previously unknown world of Shrinkles

Ah - what fun I had!

Small quirks

Three stand out little guys:

 with a nostril like Butt-head

 pocked skin and missing nose

 a wart in the eye

He is my absolute favourite, which is why he appears twice

Imagined Babies

I happened upon these whilst out shopping the other day.
It was quite exciting and so I captured this moment of them staring blankly, dressed in all of their summertime fineries, whilst my heart panged a little.

 creepy family of possible sons

ooo

Now, to get back to tending to my real children...

Here they grapple upon a meadow of purple velvet

Overworlds & Underworlds

An excellent adventure for me and Frankie:

This was our first moment...
(adorable picture!)

...this was after listening to children singing some beautifully creepy opera...

...this sprouted from the street...

And imagine my delight at being mere inches away from the Brothers themselves!

Sadly, they sped away from my grasp, into the darkness of the lair we were in, leaving me with naught but the world they had created...

...this is how dark it was in some of the arches...

 ...so this was with flash...

...this was a mouse who welcomed us into the underworld...

...this was a bird who may have been in some trouble...

...this was just wondrous...

...this was when Frankie became part of the underworld experience for others...

...this was the performance we saw the most of - yay!...

...this was before we heard an extremely loud ambulance siren...

...and this was nearly time to go home...

...where we fashioned this little beauty!

(the) Black Lip

(Part 1)

A shady character in a TV dramatisation of something or other was on treacherous ground atop a fragile roof.  We think he may have been a thief.  Perhaps all the village folk had chased him to this point because a lot of them were present, all gathering round and gasping as he tread upon the eggshells of roof.  When it became apparent that he was trapped and had no means of escape he began pleading with the villagers to save his baby.  The ones closest to him managed to grasp the child from his arms as he plummeted to his doom.  We were then shown his crumpled body laid on the ground and the episode ended with the viewer not quite sure if he was dead or alive.
