Hand Made in Bradford

March is often holiday month for me.

I plan it this way because it is my favourite month where lots of nice things happen, so it's best to be on holiday to get the fullest enjoyment from it all.

I was able to combine the two of these things (holiday + nice things) this very week as I trotted off to Hand Made in Bradford to help out in the few days before its spectacular opening...

By this late stage the vast bulk of work had been completed and I only really put in a meagre 12 hours or so but it was so lovely to be a part of something creative, especially in Bradford because it's a nice place for me to get to on the bus.

Here is what I helped with:

assembling the "leg" parts of these tables

a little bit of vacuuming (in the upstairs area, but I didn't get a picture of that)

assembling a whole eight of these units, with Debs who is a truly lovely human being!*

code-and-price tagging the goods to sell

marvelling at the really cute high quality items on sale!

ooo

And thus, the store opened today!

It all coincided with some kind of vast mirror-pool extravaganza a little way down the street.  I avoided that however as I was afraid of getting accidentally jostled into the pool by the over zealous crowds.  I don't much like to be cold and wet so after helping out on the till for about 5 minutes I came home to write this instead.

ooo

Now, you must all make your way to 1 Tyrell Street in Bradford and visit the store.

It's at the bottom of one of the hilly bits, so that's good...

*Steve also helped with the more manly parts of the assembling i.e. all the heavy lifting and some of the electrical tool usage.
He is lovely too.
